This collection comprises of Minnesota National Guard records that originated from the armory in Mankato, Minnesota these include the administrative records used by the headquarters of the 205th Infantry Regiment and the second battalion headquarters of the 135th Infantry Regiment. In addition to these units this collection also includes the records of armories that historically housed other units of the 135th Infantry Regiment that were based primarily in southern Minnesota, Correspondence and reports make up a major record types in the collection, documenting the day to day interactions between the local officers, the Minnesota Adjutant General Office, and the United States military organization.

Restrictions to Access

Materials in Box 12, folders 6 and 10; Box 11, folders 17-18 and 32; Box 9, folder 15 are CLOSED to researchers for 75 years from the date of their creation for reasons related to the confidentiality of personnel and other legally protected records.

From the Collection: 6.94 Cubic Feet (25 archival boxes, including 590 photographs, 113 photographic negatives, 25 slides, 3 sheet maps, and 6 posters.)
