Scope Note: Camp Cody (1917-1920) - A World War I National Guard Training Camp first established in 1917 near Deming, Luna County, New Mexico. Named Camp Cody in G.O. 95, 18 Jul 1917, after William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill), U.S. Army Scout and showman. Abandoned in 1920.
